Deep Tissue Massage, focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas.
It helps to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly again.
A deep tissue massage can be both corrective, relaxing and may be beneficial for;
- areas of the body that have been overworked through sporting or occupational activities
- chronic tight tissues due to sustained incorrect postures
- injury rehabilitation, strains and tears of muscles due to exercise or sport
- fatigue or lactic acid building up in muscles
- chronic muscular pain
This form of massage is particularly good for neck pain and/or headaches and is also a fantastic way to relax and unwind at the end of a hard day.
